Title: Kinect for Windows SDK - An Introduction
Speaker: Stewart Tansley, Microsoft Research The Kinect for Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) from Microsoft Research is a programming toolkit for application developers. It enables the academic and enthusiast communities easy access to the capabilities offered by the Microsoft Kinect sensor device connected to computers running the Windows 7 operating system. This talk introduces the SDK from a general perspective. We describe its back-story and a high level overview of its contents. We provide a summary of its initial availability and where we are headed together with you, the community. Title: Kinect for Windows SDK - Tutorial Overview and Deep-Dive Walkthrough Speaker: Krishna Kumar, Microsoft This a technical tutorial about the SDK. We will introduce the SDK to you as developers and provide a technical overview of its contents to show how you can use the SDK to create rich natural user interfaces. We will cover raw sensor streams, skeletal tracking and the advanced audio capabilities, including speech processing. The Kinect for Windows SDK beta includes drivers, rich APIs for raw sensor streams and human motion tracking, installation documents, and resource materials. It provides Kinect capabilities to developers who build applications with C++, C#, or Visual Basic by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. |
